International Women’s Day is on 8 March every year.  2011 marked its centenary.

Government Equalities Office is a small policy department with responsibility within Government for equality strategy and legislation and takes the lead on issues relating to women, sexual orientation and transgender equality matters.

National Council of Women of Great Britain actively works with a wide range of concerns to improve the quality of life for all, especially women. It monitors legislation, represents women’s opinions and concerns to Parliament and systematically follows them up.

Prowess is an association of organisations and individuals supporting the growth of women’s business ownership. Their work includes raising awareness, sharing of best practice, advocacy and information.

Springboard Consultancy was founded by Liz Willis and Jenny Daisley, when they collaborated to create the now world-famous women’s development programme Springboard. They operate through a network of licensed trainers, and have since developed other programmes, such as Navigator (personal development programme for men), Fresh Steps (for older workers), etc.

Sue Augustine survived a severe illness and a devastating personal situation and knows first-hand what it takes to experience transformation, turn tragedy into triumph, and see a dream come true. She is now an inspirational speaker and the author of several books.

Women’s Resource Centre supports women’s organisations to be more effective and sustainable. We provide training, resources and support to women’s organisations and we campaign and lobby on key issues for the sector.

Women’s Wisdom work with people to improve their life chances. They offer one-to-one support with ‘Yes I can’ coaching sessions and ‘Empower’ workshops to help develop confidence, esteem and creativity skills to prepare people for moving on to employment, self employment, education and voluntary work.

Professional Woman Publishing publishes self-empowerment books for women.  Each book is authored by 25 Professional Woman Network members, and is edited by Linda Ellis Eastman.

Brain in Business, founded by Ann Grindrod and Stella Collins, exists to enable people to benefit from innovative and brain-friendly learning methods. There are events, resources, products and the Brain Friendly Learning Group where members can network and discuss brain-friendly ideas.

Business Balls, run by Alan Chapman, is a free ethical learning and development resource for people and organisations, and covers a wide range of tops.

Complete Trainer is for trainers and learning and development specialists. It offers training materials and resources, and is a one-stop shop for training programmes, games, books, workbooks, CDs, DVDs and accelerated learning aids.

NVI International offers training and resources on non-verbal intelligence (NVI). NVI is the science and art enabling people to understand, harness and use the power of gesture, body language, posture, facial expression, eye contact and even how we breathe.

Training Journal, published monthly, is a resource for trainers, consultants and HR professionals. TJ Online is discussion forum and online community which offers a platform for networking and the exchange of news, views and information, and where you can give and receive help and advice.
